Poetry abounds at Katia Michel’s recital in Moia
Katia Michel’s performance delighted the audience
The pianist who was born in Switzerland and has been living in Catalonia for many years was the soloist at the concert of the Viñas Festival.
This young but distinguished performer offered a contrasting program with works by Liszt, Turull, Albeniz and the monumental Carnaval by Schumann, which she approached with passion, strength and energy (…) She displayed an impeccable sense of poetry, phrasing and style, full of authenticity and of deep understanding of the work and the composer. It is not in vain that Katia Michel studied, besides in Madrid, Berlin and New York, at the Marshall Academy in Barcelona, where she enjoyed the tutelage of the great Alicia de Larrocha, a real legend in the interpretation of Spanish music for piano.
